We've seen quite a lot of videos of old people - usually the owners' grandparents - getting a ride in a really fast car, doing a few acceleration runs, a bit of drifting or maybe even sliding behind the wheel of the car for an actual drive.
But those are just about the raw power of modern vehicles and fooling around with that power. With a Tesla Model S, it's more than that: it's asking people to rethink what they've known about cars their whole lives.

For one thing, it's a car with no engine. You literally pop open the hood and there's a big hole there where you can put some more of your luggage. And then there's the whole charging thing - after countless refills at the gas station, the idea of plugging a car into the mains and then driving off can be hard to fathom.

Tesla Model S owner Zev Carmi wanted to see how his 97-year-old grandfather would react to this onslaught of technology, and he was kind enough to record the meeting between the senior man and the EV. I don't know how you feel about electric cars, but prepare to fall in love with Zev's grandfather.

Despite his age, he displays a very sharp mind and an extremely curious spirit. He asks all the right questions and is never caught off-guard. OK, maybe the violent acceleration of the Model S did take him by surprise, but he seemed to digest the idea of the car driving by itself pretty well.

If you think about it, the whole thing is quite overwhelming. Here is a man who was born in a time when a lot of people still relied on horses to get around, and now he is sitting in a vehicle that's almost completely silent, dead fast, and drives by itself (well, you know what the Autopilot can and can't do). All this within the lifespan of a single person. It does make you wonder what we'll get to witness by the time we reach his age.

Watching this video, I'm not sure what I'm more envious of Zev Carmi for: owning a Tesla Model S or still having a grandfather to show it to. Oh, what the hell am I saying? Of course it's the latter.
