The annual "One-on-One Transit" gathering brings together transportation leaders, engineers, and environmental advocates to discuss new technology that can reduce emissions around the globe.
BAE Systems Sales Director John Hroncich says, "We're hosting over 35 transit agencies from across the country, as far as Hawaii. Several from the west coast here in Endicott to interact with our product processes, our plan, and most importantly, our people as part of an industry exchange of ideas and collaboration around zero emission bus technology."
The event showcased some of BAE Systems electric drive technology, insight into how Endicott is contributing to the future of clean transportation, and other demonstrations on how the BAE software is brought from the warehouse to the roads.
Dan Raudebaugh, Executive Director Center for Transportation and Environments said, "It's really good to have a player like BAE in the industry. They have very deep roots with the defense department and a long history of deploying advanced technologies and difficult duty cycles. So applying that to the commercial side, to transit buses and to trucks, this is great for the industry, and it's great for them, for the area. "
By hosting these events, businesses like bae can help bring the transportation industry into the future as front runners of clean energy transportation.
Raudebaugh said, "If you get a foothold now and you can get into the market early, as that market grows and becomes the predominant fuel source, then it's going to be really started here. And I think on the job decision should be here."
