“Ambassador Gardiner’s significant contributions to marine policy, international maritime regulations and sustainable use of ocean resources make him exceptionally qualified for this position,” he noted.
Ambassador Gardiner expressed his appreciation for the appointment.
“I am truly honoured by this appointment. The COBE will be a key factor in the maritime development in Antigua and Barbuda and will unlock the potential of our region and especially our young people to develop sustainable careers in the maritime sector.
I am confident in COBE’s leadership to lead the charge on expanding how we view and interact with our maritime space.”
In his role as Honorary Fellow, Ambassador Gardiner will provide mentorship to emerging scholars, contribute to academic discussions and workshops, and support the strategic development of the Centre’s research agenda.
